Recently, prices for butadiene and acrylonitrile—two key chemical raw materials—have rebounded from their lows and risen rapidly.
According to data from Business Society, ex-factory prices for butadiene in East China began rising in late July, climbing 20% by the end of the month and rebounding to 12,000 yuan per metric ton by late August. Acrylonitrile followed a similar upward trend, continuing to rise after hitting bottom in July and surging to around 12,000 yuan per metric ton, where it has since fluctuated slightly at these high levels.
Both are key upstream raw materials for rubber and plastic products such as nitrile gloves; rising raw material prices will directly lead to higher production costs. We ask our sales and procurement colleagues to continue monitoring fluctuations in the raw materials market, plan inventory levels appropriately, and effectively manage cost risks.
